Across the country, legislators are dusting off atrocious policies our movement buried years ago:
- Unsafe youth detention centers are being reopened or expanded.
- Bills that let children stand trial as adults are being introduced across the country. In Nebraska, legislators are even trying to get 12-year-old children tried as adults.
- Mandatory minimum sentences that have long proven to increase recidivism are creeping back into juvenile codes.
