Multiple analyses agree that thousands of federal web pages and datasets have been removed or altered under the current administration.
-
A New York Times–cited analysis found that, by early February 2025, more than 8,000 web pages across more than a dozen U.S. government websites had been taken down or heavily modified in response to Trump administration directives, including content on vaccines, veterans’ care, hate crimes, and scientific research.
-
That same analysis reported the removal or modification of around 3,000 datasets, alongside the deletion of major portals and tools, such as environmental justice screeners and climate resources.
-
Agencies and topics hit the hardest include CDC (over 3,000 pages removed or altered), the Census Bureau (roughly 3,000 research and methodology pages removed), FDA (100+ pages, including guidance documents), as well as Health and Human Services, EPA, NOAA, and others.
Environmental and climate sites have been particularly targeted: the federal climate research portal globalchange.gov was shut down, climate and environmental justice tools were pulled, and NOAA’s climate.gov team was laid off, effectively freezing that site.
8,000+ individual pages and 3,000+ datasets removed or altered across numerous federal sites since early 2025, with more changes ongoing.
Data and resources matter for people that need the resources and Law and Policy makers making policies and programs. Without accurate information guesswork guides decisions. Bad laws and poor programs follow.
America’s prisons are full, schools are struggling, and at-risk children becoming at-risk juveniles and adults without community support (nine-year prison recidivism has remained at 80% for twenty years).
If the numbers are unknown, there is no problem and no need for a solution.
