More about the new platform below.
Why This Platform Matters and What it Does:
-
There is no single, trusted source for child abuse and child health data in the U.S.
-
Lack of transparency means policymakers and the public are making decisions in the dark, often based on outdated or incomplete information.
-
Missing data and confusion allow harmful myths and negative stereotypes to dominate the conversation about vulnerable children and families.
-
Budget cuts and cost-saving measures are making things even worse—at-risk kids are falling through the cracks, and already-stretched systems are being pushed beyond the breaking point.
-
Real children are facing lifelong harm because the full scope of need and the reality inside of CPS and the long-term effects after Child Protective Services involvement remain hidden.
What Our Platform Will Do
-
Delivers a national, interactive, AI-powered platform with accurate information on child abuse, child protection, childhood trauma, and mental health.
-
Shine a light on issues buried, ignored, or misunderstood by gathering hard to find or missing information, news, and real-world stories from across the nation.
-
Highlight key issues for public awareness and action—showing not just statistics, but the human faces and struggles behind the data.
-
Provide law and policy makers with data to create a clear picture of child abuse and child protection and timely, accurate information to make better, safer policies—and expose policies and practices that put children at risk.
-
Collect and share information submitted by the public about abuse cases and policies, closing the gap between official records and lived experience.
-
Offer a large, searchable database of mental health and community resources.

Why Now
-
The combination of hidden information, negative stories, and shrinking budgets puts at-risk kids in greater danger than ever before.
-
Many of the 7.8 million abused children reported to CPS each year don’t get the help they need—because resources aren’t there for them. Resources aren’t there for them because the depth and scope of America’s child abuse problems are not seen or reported.
-
Social worker turnover is very high; caseloads are dangerously large, making it impossible to serve every child in need and social work is not valued highly in our nation today. It is seen as non essential in many communities.
-
As budgets are cut, services become even harder to access and public understanding grows more negative and less compassionate.
-
Nationally, the average caseload for a worker is 69 cases, it should be 12–15—some states are even higher, risking safety for thousands of kids. Many children die and suffer lifelong physical and mental health damage because of overwhelmed systems and inadequate resources
Our Promise
-
We bring clear, easy-to-find data and real-time help to everyone who needs it—fighting back against secrecy, confusion, and fear.
-
Our platform supports families, advocates, social workers, and lawmakers with facts, resources, and hope.
-
By exposing what has long been hidden, KARA’s NATIONAL CHILD ABUSE INFORMATION & SOLUTIONS PLATFORM will challenge harmful narratives, guide smart policy, fuel community support, and—most importantly—better protect and heal at-risk children and their families.
