I was raised by a single mom who made a fraction of the salary that men in her office earned. It was harder in other ways for her also as overt sexism was not just tolerated, it was the rule.

New Jersey school counselor Thomas Kersting told Fox News that denying lunch to low-income children whose parents had not filled out eligibility forms would be a “teaching moment” (ie, a great idea).
No diapers, no mental health services, no food stamps, and no lunch. What makes us so mean?
More importantly, supporting day care for disadvantaged children is the right thing to do for all Minnesota’s kids.
